Enrolling at our school

​​​​​​​​​Thank you for considering enrolling at Wavell Heights State School. 
 
To be eligible to enrol for Prep children must turn 5 prior to June 30 in the year they commence Prep.

Enrolment Process

Enrolling at our school is a simple process.  There are three easy steps to follow.

 Step 1 - Check the Enrolment Management Plan

Check the Wavell Heights State School Enrolment Management Plan to see whether you are eligible.  You can check you live within our school catchment by following this link http://www.qgso.qld.gov.au/maps/edmap/ and entering your address.

 Out of Catchment applications can be considered. 

Step 2 - The Enrolment Application

  • Download the Enrolment Form from our web page or collect an Enrolment Pack from the office
  • Please read these important documents prior to the enrolment interview
  • Read and understand these policies:
    • Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students
    • Parent Information
  • Complete the following:
    • Application for student enrolment form. A separate form must be completed for each child enrolling
    • Enrolment Agreement
    • Network Usage and Access Agreement and Acceptable Use of ICT
    • Prep Questionnaire (for Prep only)
    • Anti-Bullying Compact
    • Out of Catchment Request - if required​
  • Please provide copies of the following with your enrolment application:
    • The completed enrolment forms (from step 2)
    • A birth certificate
    • A current passport and visa documents for any child born overseas
    • Two Proof of Address Documents 
    • The most recent student report card or Transition Statement

  • Once you have completed the Enrolment Paperwork please email a copy to admin@wavellheightsss.eq.edu.au or drop the forms into the office.
  • Once we have received all the document we will arrange a meeting with the Deputy Principal.

 
Step 3 - The Enrolment Interview

Your child should attend this interview with you.

Please ensure that you arrive 5 minutes before your interview time.  Without the completed documents the enrolment cannot proceed and a new time will be booked.

 We will need the following items BEFORE the enrolment interview:
  • The completed enrolment forms (from step 2)
  • A birth certificate
  • A current passport and visa documents for any child born overseas
  • Proof of Address 
  • The most recent student report card or Transition Statement
 
At the Enrolment meeting we will:
  • Discuss the details on your enrolment application
  • Your child will draw a picture (Prep) and speak with the Deputy Principal
  • Discuss Uniforms and Books
  • Complete an enrolment agreement
  • Discuss and organise participating in our School Readiness program and Prep Orientation Days
