Enrolment Process for Prep 2023

Enrolling at our school is a simple process.  There are three easy steps to follow.

Step 1 - Check the Enrolment Management Plan

Check the Wavell Heights State School Enrolment Management Plan to see whether you are eligible.  You can check you live within our school catchment by following this link http://www.qgso.qld.gov.au/maps/edmap/ and entering your address.

Out of Catchment applications can be considered.  Please complete the Out of Catchment Enrolment Request Form and book an enrolment interview early.

Step 2 - The Enrolment Application

  • Register your interest in Prep by email admin@wavellheightsss.eq.edu.au
  • Collect a Prep Information Pack from the office
  • Please read these important documents prior to the enrolment interview
  • Read and understand these policies:
    • Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students
    • Parent Information
  • Complete the following:
    • Application for student enrolment form. A separate form must be completed for each child enrolling
    • Enrolment Agreement
    • Media Consent Form
    • Network Usage and Access Agreement and Acceptable Use of ICT
    • Prep Questionnaire
    • Anti-Bullying Compact
    • Out of Catchment Request - if required
  • Once these are completed contact the office on 3624 2888 or admin@wavellheightsss.eq.edu.au to arrange a meeting with the Deputy Principal at a mutually convenient time.

Step 3 - The Enrolment Interview

Your child should attend this interview with you.

Please ensure that you arrive on time with the documentation fully completed.  Without the completed documents the enrolment cannot proceed and a new time will be booked.

Please bring the following items for each child to the enrolment interview:
  • The completed enrolment forms (from step 2)
  • A birth certificate
  • A current passport and visa documents for any child born overseas
  • Proof of Address
  • The most recent student report card or Transition Statement

At the Enrolment meeting we will:
  • Discuss the details on your enrolment application
  • Your child will draw a picture and speak with the Deputy Principal
  • Discuss Uniforms and Books
  • Complete an enrolment agreement
  • Discuss and organise participating in our School Readiness program and Prep Orientation Days
